Classic, timeless and every popular is the much-loved 'E' Type Jaguar from the 1960s and 1970s. Its appeal has resulted in many accolades, including its inclusion in the 100 most beautiful cars of all time where it topped the charts. Designed by Jaguar Cars designer Malcolm Sayer and assembled at the Coventry Plant, it was first introduced in 1961 under a sports car classification. Its good looks, high performance and relative affordability have made it a motoring icon.
For its latest Oxford outing in 1:43 scale (11cm in length), it appears in a favourite colour scheme of its time, Old English White, registered YON 447J from 1970-71. Exterior trim comprises a wealth of gleaming chrome work, even down to the exhaust pipes, bumpers, grilles and solid style wheels. The interior 2 + 2 front and rear seating is moulded in mid grey, including the rear shelf. The steering wheel and door cappings are finished in silver and the floor and dashboard are black.
In real life, even the late, great Enzo Ferrari is quoted as saying that the 'E' Type was the most beautiful car ever made - and he should know!
